October 2008 Real Estate Sales in Sarasota Florida increased 32% over September 2008 and a 12% increase over September 2007. The best news Sarasota has seen in 18 months.

On December 1st, 2008, Biggar International Group, LLC affiliated with Keller Williams is moving their offices from 6272 Lake Osprey Drive Lakewood Ranch, FL to the John Cannon Office building in Lakewood Ranch, FL. This larger office is new and will provide more than twice as much space as the current office with much better amenities.

The Herald Tribune reported on Saturday that the Boston Red Sox have decided to stay in Ft. Myers, Florida to have their new $80,000,000 spring training facility constructed. The agreement was signed on Saturday by the Red Sox ending an offer by Sarasota to construct the new facility in Sarasota.

Sarasota will now look to the Baltimore Orioles to make an offer for their new spring training facility.
